ICB - the selling experience

On February 20th, 2015 I had the pleasure to set up a table and sell a couple of my pieces at the Black 2 Love Gala. I was thrilled to be a part of an event promoting black arts, love, and a positive message. Put together by the non for profit Crowd of Excellence (http://www.crowdofexcellence.com/). 

Other than a great evening, one of the greatest things I was able to take away from the event was the invaluable experience of my first time putting not only myself but my work out there for more people to see. As my work is an extension of myself, my life, and my beliefs; inviting others to view my work nearly feels as intimate as inviting someone into your home. Also, learning half the battle in my artistry is confidence in my work and actually taking that step to put it out there into the world with the hopes that others appreciate and enjoy it. 

My goal is to build on this experience and I hope I always feel the same nervous excitement I felt from preparing for this, my first showing.
